California Dreaming…

Ok, so here is the story…

My friend/roommate and I are are once again moving… BACK to California.  I have had enough of the heat and humidity of the summer and freezing cold of winter of the Midwest.  Yes, I know I have only been here since February but if you remember (or if you don’t), I used to live here in Chicago before I moved to California in 2004 and before that I lived in Wisconsin for the first 17 years of my life.

I have realized that California is truly my home.  For those of you who remember, I moved to Chicago in February (not the smartest thing I ever did) to be nearer to my father who has Alzheimer’s disease.  I thought that by my being 5 hours away by car would be better than 4 hours away by plane for some reason.  My mistake.  My father is doing OK and seems to be stable for the time being and he has his wife and my sister to look after him and they are doing a wonderful job.

As for me, I realized that life truly is way to short to be unhappy and I know that I am happiest when I am in California ,the Ocean, the weather, the Folsom Street Fair :-) .  Granted, I and the rest of the State will probably slide into the Pacific Ocean during the next big earthquake, but there are natural disasters ANYWHERE you live.

So I have packed up all my things (AGAIN!!!) and will be loading up the moving truck this Monday and driving across the country (AGAIN!!!).  I will TRY to schedule some posts for next week so you guys have something to look at while I make my way “Home”.  I will have very limited internet access during the drive, so if you comment, e-mail, or donate (which would REALLY help with moving expenses), please know that I will not be able to respond until after Monday, August 22nd.

So if you happen to live somewhere along Interstate 80 between Chicago and San Francisco and you see a moving truck with 2 guys and a dog – honk and wave because it will probably be me.

Happy Memorial Day for my U.S. friends…

I want to thank ALL military members (and former members) all over the WORLD (but especially the United States) for serving their country.  You guys are AWESOME!!!  I would also like to thank all those members of the military who could not be here.  You are NOT forgotten!

I hope your Monday (Holiday here in the U.S.A.) is as nice and WARM  where you are.  (Who am kidding, it is FREAKING HOT here in Chicago!!!)

If not, here are some HOT boys to warm you up!

Hugs!
